A leading company in construction and renovation is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project execution in Lisbon. The ideal candidate will coordinate with various stakeholders, assist in site supervision, and ensure compliance with regulations. The position offers a one-year contract with full legal rights under Portuguese Labor Law and additional benefits.

Job Title: Assistant Project Manager (Construction & Renovation)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Job Duties of the Assistant Manager include, but are not limited to:

General Purpose:

The Assistant Project Manager will support the team leader in coordination, and execution of renovation projects for few buildings located at Baixa, Lisbon.

This role involves assisting in procurement, contractor coordination, permit applications, and
- site supervision, with the goal of ensuring projects are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget—while complying with Portuguese and European building regulations.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized,
- oriented, and able to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, construction professionals, and government authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Assistance & Coordination

• Support the team leader in coordinating stakeholders (architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, etc. )

• Assist in the preparation and updating of project timelines and documentation

• Help manage resource planning (manpower, materials, equipment) within budget

• Follow up with vendors and service providers regarding service deliverables

• Assist in organizing tender processes and managing supplier quotations

• Participate in regular coordination meetings and prepare meeting minutes

• Support in tracking project costs and progress reports

Technical Supervision Support

• Assist in the review and verification of architectural and engineering plans

• Support with site inspections and
- site coordination with contractors

• Help monitor construction methods and ensure quality control compliance

• Document measurements and work progress for administrative and technical records

• Assist in applying and following up on licensing, certification processes, and permit tracking at Tourism and Municipal.

Administrative & Compliance Support

• Help maintain proper records of all correspondence, permits, and approvals

• Assist with contract preparation, cost estimates, and budget updates

• Support in identifying construction issues and proposing technical solutions

• Ensure all documentation is in accordance with regulatory and internal standards

• Participate in handling repair requests, service complaints, and
- up works of tenants and users.

Requirements:

• 1–3 years of experience in construction project coordination or supervision

• Basic knowledge of construction techniques, site safety, and materials

• Familiarity with Portuguese building regulations and permit procedures

• Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of Auto
CAD and project software is an advantage

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to plan and prioritize tasks.

• Ability to negotiate and results oriented.

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Ability to work both independently and in a team

• Good time management and attention to detail

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field

• PMP certification or technical training will be considered a plus

• Fluent in Portuguese and working knowledge of English

• Driving licence (Mandatory)

• Availability to travel to construction sites (nationwide)

• Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM (40 hours/week)

• Contract: 1-year
- term contract with full legal rights under Portuguese Labor Law
