Job summary

Bapco Energies in Bahrain seeks a Senior Advisor for Power Commercial & Contracts to lead commercial structuring, evaluation, negotiation, and risk management of PPAs, transmission, and trading arrangements. You will drive bankable structures aligned with the group’s renewable energy and energy transition initiatives.

You will oversee cross-border agreements, risk assessment, and the integration of commercial terms with project finance models, ensuring value for shareholders and lenders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Finance, Energy Systems, Law.
• Master’s degree or professional qualification in Commercial Management, Energy Economics, Law, Project Finance is preferred.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in power, utilities, infrastructure, energy trading, project finance, or energy project development.
• Proven experience negotiating and structuring utility-scale PPAs, corporate PPAs, power trading, cross-border arrangements, and transmission agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial structuring, evaluation, negotiation, and risk management of power offtake, transmission, and trading arrangements.
• Develop bankable transaction structures that support project financing and long-term revenue certainty.
• Lead commercial engagement with utilities, transmission operators, regulators, and other stakeholders.
• Assess pricing, tariffs, indexation, volume/availability obligations, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Support governance, reporting, and knowledge transfer within the group.
