Job summary

Penny Software in Manama, Bahrain, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead backend engineering for our procure-to-pay platform. You will design scalable APIs, drive backend architecture decisions, and mentor junior developers in a fast-paced environment.

You will collaborate with product, frontend, and DevOps teams to deliver robust, high-performance services, with emphasis on MongoDB, RESTful APIs, and microservices. Experience with Oracle Fusion ERP integrations is a plus.

Qualifications

Extensive backend experience with MEAN stack and scalable systems.
Strong RESTful API design and microservices experience.
Deep knowledge of MongoDB, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

Lead backend system architecture with a focus on security and performance.
Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices for the procurement platform.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into solutions.
Integrate with third-party systems including Oracle Fusion ERP.
Optimize database queries and storage, focusing on MongoDB.
Mentor junior developers and promote best practices.
Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for system health.
