Job summary

Leidos seeks an IT Specialist to support the OCONUS Piers program in Bahrain, part of the NGEN-R SMIT contract for Navy networks. The role focuses on connecting vessels to shore networks, maintaining UCA fiber cables, and ensuring service targets are met while traveling within the region.

Responsibilities include testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of Navy Umbilical Cable Assemblies, updating the UCA tracker, and contributing to SOP development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 1–3 years IT experience.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with active Secret Clearance.
• NAVSEA cert and/or fiber cabling cert (e.g., BICSI 2, ETA FOI/ FOT, FOA CFOT).
• Able to obtain 8570 IAT Level II (Security+, CCNA Security, etc.).
• Hands-on DoD network experience (NIPR/SIPR).

Responsibilities

• Provide connect/disconnect service for vessels at port.
• Repair and maintain UCA fiber optic cables.
• Test UCA cables at required intervals.
• Update UCA status in tracker.
• Travel to regional locations for maintenance.
• Develop and update SOPs for connect/disconnect, testing, repair.
• Monitor vessel arrivals/departures and respond within service targets.
• Document daily shift activities in reporting/ticketing tools.
• Provide On-Site/On-call support 24/7/365.
