Job summary

Bahrain Surf Park is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead our kitchen team and ensure top-quality food. You will plan, coordinate, and execute kitchen activities, uphold hygiene standards, and mentor staff for peak service periods.

You will drive menu execution, monitor costs, and collaborate across departments to deliver exceptional dining experiences near our Waves for All concept.

Qualifications

• Relevant culinary qualification, diploma, or certification in Professional Cookery or Culinary Arts.
• Fluent in English; Arabic an advantage.
• Experience in luxury hotel, resort, or high-volume restaurant preferred.
• Experience leading kitchen teams in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing, and supervising all kitchen activities.
• Ensure food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and standards.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
• Assist Head Chef with staff training and onboarding.
• Support kitchen scheduling and staff rostering.
• Supervise and mentor kitchen staff; delegate tasks; maintain workflow.
• Plan and allocate team workload; promote teamwork and a positive environment.
• Ensure all kitchen stations are prepared before service; monitor productivity during peak times.
• Assist in inventory management, food cost control, and stock rotation.
• Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and seasonal promotions.
• Maintain knowledge of health and safety procedures; ensure HACCP compliance.
• Support audits and safety inspections.
• Promote a safe environment for guests and team members.
