Job summary

Celebrity Cruises is seeking an experienced Baker to maintain daily bakery operations aboard our ship, ensuring high-quality bread for the buffet and daily menus. You will work closely with the Head Baker to monitor production and presentation, uphold USPH standards, and support cost-conscious production.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of bakery experience in upscale settings, knowledge of cleaning techniques, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years' experience as a Baker in upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship or convention banqueting service (shipboard experience preferred).
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and use of equipment.
• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bakery shop operations and production daily per company policies.
• Manage production, quality, and presentation of bread for daily menus.
• Assist Head Baker with production forecasts and leftovers tracking to control costs.
• Assist in bread display setup in buffets.
• Ensure compliance with USPH rules and regulations daily.
• Ensure bakery cleaning per Executive Chef's schedule to minimize equipment damage.
• Prepare bakery for USPH inspections by ship management or inspectors.
• Coordinate requisition and transport of items from main stores to bakery as needed.
• Ensure recipes and yields meet company standards.
• Assist CDP Baker with daily consumption recap.
• Acquire knowledge to comply with ship's SOP to assist guests and crew.
• Attend meetings, trainings, courses, and other work-related activities.
• Perform related duties as required; shipboard employee may perform other duties.
