Job summary

Bank ABC, headquartered in Bahrain, is seeking an IFRS9 & ECL Reporting Officer in the Group Risk Management Department to manage Moodys IFRS9 RCO across environments for various units/subsidiaries. The role focuses on maintaining the ECL framework, regulatory alignment, and data-driven risk analysis.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong SQL skills, familiarity with SAS/R/Python, and deep knowledge of IFRS9 and credit risk measurement techniques.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ experience in a similar function with a large regional or global financial institution.
• Graduate degree with Banking & Finance Background.
• High level of data handling skills.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS9 regulations.
• Good knowledge of Credit Risk measurement techniques.
• Strong, hands‑on proficiency in SQL and related database technologies (i.e. SAS, R & Python) beyond basic or high‑level understanding.
• Expert‑level Excel skills, including data cleaning, advanced functions (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX‑MATCH), and large‑dataset management.
• Good organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Generate IFRS9 ECL provision results on a quarterly basis through the Moodys RCO for Group and Unit levels.
• Engage with ABC Subsidiaries and Business Units to collect data and ensure accuracy through periodic checks.
• Generate analytical reports related to ECL from Strategic System.
• Define and validate the integration of the RCO with other risk management systems.
• Prepare and maintain internal standards, policies and rules on IFRS9 and monitor policy changes for impact.
• Provide support for Risk MI Dashboard, Stress Testing, ICAAP, portfolio reporting, etc.
• Maintain and monitor ECL system configuration; perform UAT and assist with automating ECL computation where applicable.
• Report P&L Charge to GCC and reconcile with Group Finance & Group Risk.
