Job summary

SVITZER Bahrain seeks a Deck Hand to support vessel operations, reporting to the Master and ensuring readiness for deployment in a safe, efficient manner.

You will stand watches on the bridge and deck, perform maintenance ashore and aboard, participate in safety drills, and follow HMS policies and local regulations to prevent injuries and incidents.

We value safety, teamwork, and adherence to international shipboard standards and training requirements.

Qualifications

• Holder of II/4 Nav Watch Rating certificate (Unlimited) and valid endorsements.
• Completed Basic Safety Training STCW A-VI/1.
• Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties A-VI/6.
• Valid Seafarer Medical certificate.

Responsibilities

• The Deck Hand reports to the Master.
• Contributes to keeping the vessel ready for deployment in a safe and efficient manner as directed by the Master and HMS policies.
• Performs tasks safely and, if in doubt, asks the Master for guidance.
• Proposes initiatives to raise onboard safety levels.
• Participates in safety training and drills onboard.
• Performs operational duties related to vessel tasks including assisting with salvage, workshop jobs ashore or with equipment prep on shore.
• Maintains deck, engine room and accommodation areas as instructed.
• Stands watches such as lookout on the bridge and deck as required.
• Stops work if a task is unsafe and follows the Stop Work/Take 5 procedures with Master instruction.
• Complies with the company safety management system regulations.
• Induction training of visitors, employees and others authorized to access the vessel.

II/4 - Nav Watch Rating - Unlimited

Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1)
