Job summary

SVITZER is seeking a Deck Hand to support vessel operations under the Master’s instruction. You will be required to keep watch, assist with salvage and equipment prep, and perform deck and engine room maintenance as needed.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to HMS procedures, and active participation in drills and safety reporting. Relevant STCW certifications and Seafarer Medical are required.

Qualifications

• II/4 - Nav Watch Rating - Unlimited.
• Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1).
• Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties A-VI/6.
• Valid Seafarer Medical.

Responsibilities

• Carry out deck operations and watchkeeping as directed by the Master.
• Assist with salvage operations, workshop tasks ashore, and equipment preparation.
• Perform maintenance and housekeeping on deck, engine room, or accommodation.
• Stand bridge and deck watches as required and stop unsafe work.
• Participate in onboard safety training and drills.
