Job summary

SVITZER Americas is seeking a Tug Master - Captain for our Bahrain operations. The Master will have overall authority for safety and ship operations, coordinate crew, manage stores and ensure readiness for tug operations.

The role requires II/3 Master <500GT, STCW basic safety training, medical care, survival craft, fire fighting, security duties, and a valid seafarer medical. Compliance with SMS and safety standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Master with command authority aboard vessels per SVITZER procedures.
• STCW certifications required for shipboard safety and operations.
• Valid Seafarer Medical and security training are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Act as tug manager and coordinate crew attendance for operations.
• Oversee vessel readiness, stores and supplies for operations.
• Ensure compliance with SMS, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

Education

II/3 - Master less than 500GT – NCV

Basic Safety Training (STCW A-VI/1)

Proficiency in Medical Care On Board Ship (STCW A-VI/4-2)

Proficiency Survival Craft and Rescue Boat (STCW A-VI/2)

Advanced Fire Fighting (STCW A-VI/3)

Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties A-VI/6

Valid Seafarer Medical
