Job summary

RCSI Medical University of Bahrain seeks a proactive Community Outreach Coordinator to support local initiatives, coordinate projects, events, and placements that enhance student employability and development. Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects, events, and placements addressing community needs.
• Promote outreach activities via emails, social media, publications, and press releases.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers following established processes.
• Manage day-to-day admin of the community engagement programme.
• Maintain the Community Engagement Database and liaise with stakeholders.
• Prepare reports for the Quality Enhancement Office and end-of-year surveys.
• Create event posters, infographics, and reporting visuals.
• Collaborate with Marketing to disseminate outreach information.

Job description

Reporting To: Community Outreach Team Lead

Objective: To support the Community Outreach initiatives of RCSI Bahrain by coordinating impactful projects, events, and placements that address local/community needs, enhance student employability and personal development, while effectively promoting community outreach activities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of projects, placements and events that meet local/regional community need and that have a positive impact on the employability and personal development of students
• Effectively convey and promote community outreach activities within the University and the local community. This involves: crafting emails, utilizing social media, writing content for publications, coordinating press releases, and planning volunteer recruitment promotions.
• Support with the recruitment induction, training, and facilitation of volunteers in-line with established processes for different projects, events and activities
• Coordinate day to day administrative components of the community engagement programme.
• Provide administrative support including coordination of training and induction procedures.
• Maintain and update the Community Engagement Database before and after every event and activity. Liaise with Service Improvement Team to maintain the database.
• Maintain the flow of Community Engagement information on RCSI Bahrain’s internal and external communication channels.
• Create visually engaging event posters, presentation content, infographics, and statistical graphs to support community engagement activities, reporting, and communications.
• Support students, alumni and staff before, during and after Community Engagement events and activities.
• Support students, alumni and staff with Community Engagement letters and certificates.
• Liaise and communicate with the relevant external stakeholders such as charities, ministries, hospitals, internal stakeholders, strategic third-party service providers, ministries.
• Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders, community pillar engagement leads, Head of student development.
• Prepare reports and respond to requests from the Quality Enhancement Office.
• Coordinate post event and end of year surveys.
• Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication Department to distribute community outreach information and news to target groups (internally & externally).
• Undergo programmes of training and development as may be required
• Represent the best interests of the Department / RCSI Bahrain at all times
• Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time.

Requirements

Key Requirements/Competencies

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required, with a background or experience in healthcare preferred.
• Experience in Community Engagement/Event Management/Corporate Social Responsibility.
• Must have strong fluency in both English and Arabic Languages.
• Experience of co-ordinating health promotion programmes and projects
• Knowledge of Bahrain communities and cultures
• An ability to think, plan and act strategically using evidence based decision making and problem solving skills.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to focus on and produce results.
• An ability to adapt to the needs of a busy and changing environment, act decisively and meet deadlines.
• A team player with strong management skills.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills are essential.
• Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office suite
• Flexibility to work irregular hours as required.
