Job summary

SIHAMCO is seeking a skilled Barista - Specialty Hot Drinks to join our hospitality team in Manama. You will expertly prepare specialty coffees, signature hot drinks, teas, and other crafted beverages, delivering exceptional guest experiences in a high-volume setting.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of Barista experience in premium environments, strong knowledge of espresso-based beverages, and latte art skills. Fluent English and professional presentation are essential.

• 2 years' experience as a Barista in a specialty coffee shop or premium hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee preparation and espresso-based beverages.
• Experience operating professional espresso machines and grinders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality specialty coffee and hot beverages according to recipes and standards.
• Prepare espresso-based beverages including espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, flat white, and more.
• Create signature hot drinks and seasonal beverages.
• Maintain a clean, stocked barista station and ensure consistency during service.
• Follow safety, hygiene, and presentation guidelines and work with kitchen and service teams.

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Barista - Specialty Hot Drinks to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of specialty coffee and hot beverage preparation, with a passion for delivering high-quality drinks and exceptional guest experiences.
The Barista will be responsible for preparing and serving a range of specialty coffees, signature hot drinks, teas, and other crafted beverages, while maintaining consistency, presentation, and quality throughout service. The successful candidate should be confident working in a high-volume environment and have excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality specialty coffee and hot beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Prepare espresso-based beverages including espresso, Americano, cappuccino, latte, flat white, macchiato, mocha, and other specialty drinks
• Prepare and execute signature hot drinks, including seasonal and creative beverage recipes
• Create and maintain high-quality latte art where required
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, texturing, and temperature control
• Produce consistent and high-quality drinks while maintaining appropriate speed during busy service periods
• Prepare specialty teas, hot chocolate, chai, matcha, and other non-coffee hot beverages as required
• Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, preparation methods, and presentation guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organised, and fully stocked barista station throughout service
• Operate and care for espresso machines, grinders, brewing equipment, and other beverage equipment correctly
• Carry out daily opening and closing procedures, including equipment cleaning and calibration
• Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, garnishes, cups, and other beverage supplies and communicate replenishment requirements
• Minimise product waste while maintaining quality and consistency
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, health, and safety procedures
• Ensure all beverages are presented according to the concept's quality and aesthetic standards
• Work closely with the service and kitchen teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations
• Assist with the development and testing of new specialty beverages and seasonal drink menus when required
• Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and high level of personal hygiene at all times

Requirements

• 2 years' experience as a Barista in a specialty coffee shop, premium restaurant, hotel, café, or high-end hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of specialty coffee preparation and espresso-based beverages
• Proven ability to operate and maintain professional espresso machines and grinders
• Strong milk steaming, texturing, and latte art skills
• Experience preparing signature and specialty hot beverages
• Knowledge of coffee beans, roast profiles, extraction, and basic coffee brewing principles
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency
• Professional grooming and presentation
• Fluent English communication skills; additional languages are an advantage
• Barista or specialty coffee certification is preferred
