Job summary

Black Pen Recruitment seeks a Web Operations Manager fluent in English to join the Brussels-based team on site. You will work within the Development team, coordinating with a major client’s IT group to structure and optimize HR content and navigation.

The role requires a strong background in information architecture, UX, and content editorial skills, with extensive experience in ServiceNow and SharePoint. This is a contract position based in Brussels, Belgium, onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT with 10+ years of IT experience.
• Experience with ServiceNow, SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
• Expertise in information architecture and UX.
• Experience structuring content with ServiceNow and SharePoint features.
• Web content creation, editorial skills.
• Knowledge of user-oriented architecture and WCAG usability.
• Excellent command of English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review information architecture and navigation for HR content.
• Structure HR content using web parts, metadata, and navigation to improve findability.
• Perform quality assurance: check broken links and formatting; ensure editorial compliance.
• Contribute to improving information architecture and user journey across sites.
• Test search and virtual agent to ensure business needs are met.
• Provide web writing and editorial support: rewriting and proofreading.
• Identify content to improve and support business goals.
• Update content regularly to maintain accuracy and relevance.
• Coordinate with content owners to publish content timely.
• Support community management with presentations and tutorials.
• Monitor analytics to identify improvements in usage and engagement.

Our client, a leading Software, Information and Communication Technologies company, operates internationally (Athens, Brussels, Luxembourg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, London, Nicosia, Hong-Kong, Valetta, etc). Our client is a renowned supplier of IT services to government institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations and multinational companies, research and academic institutes.

Role Overview

Our client currently has a vacancy for a Web Operations Manager fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, combined with 10 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Experience with Service Now, SharePoint Online & Microsoft 365 knowledge;
• Experience with information architecture & UX;
• Experience with structuring content using Service Now and SharePoint features, tagging and taxonomy, user navigation flows, and optimizing for findability and engagement;
• Experience with web content creation & editorial skills;
• Knowledge of user-oriented architecture, usability and user-centred design;
• Excellent command of the English language

• Structure and organise HR content using features such as web parts, components, sections, metadata, and navigation to enhance user experience and findability;
• Conduct quality assurance checks, including broken links, formatting consistency, and compliance with editorial and web accessibility guidelines;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the information architecture and the user journey across several sites;
• Conduct tests of the search and of the virtual agent to assess that business needs are met;
• Provide web writing and editorial support, including rewriting, proofreading, and optimising content for readability, accessibility (WCAG), and internal search engine optimisation (SEO);
• Identify content that requires improvement, to better underpin business goals and respond to user needs;
• Perform regular content updates and maintenance to ensure the accuracy, relevance, and freshness of published information;
• Coordinate with content owners and stakeholders to ensure that content is published in a timely and effective manner;
• Support the community management with presentations, tutorials, support sessions, etc;
• Monitor the key indicators and analytics such as usage, search, navigation or feedback to identify points of improvement for content effectiveness and user engagement.
