Job summary

UPDT272 is seeking a Tooling Project Leader to manage tooling projects from concept through series production in an automotive environment. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, customers, suppliers and external partners to deliver high‑performance tooling solutions that modernize manufacturing facilities and improve production efficiency.

The role requires a technical engineering background, strong project leadership, and experience with CAD, Siemens S7, and TIA Portal.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, preferably in Plastics Processing, Mechatronics, Process Engineering, or a related technical field.
Several years of experience in tooling project management is considered an asset.
Good understanding of automotive manufacturing environments and industrial production processes.
Experience with CAD software and technical design documentation.
Knowledge of Siemens S7 and TIA Portal is considered an advantage.
Good command of Microsoft Office applications.
Strong communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.
Structured, analytical, and results-oriented approach to work.
Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and take responsibility for project outcomes.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving technical challenges.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate tooling projects throughout their entire lifecycle, from initial planning to series production approval.
Define technical specifications, project requirements, schedules, and implementation plans.
Monitor project budgets, deadlines, technical deliverables, and overall progress.
Coordinate technical discussions with customers, suppliers, internal departments, and external partners.
Support tooling design activities and coordinate interfaces with automated systems and production equipment.
Oversee tooling assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Conduct feasibility studies and FMEA analyses to identify potential risks, technical challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and automotive industry standards.
Support the industrialization of new products and the implementation of new manufacturing processes.
Prepare, organize, and maintain technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, tooling optimization, and increased production efficiency.
Take ownership of project delivery, ensuring alignment between technical requirements, production needs, deadlines, and business objectives.
