Wlgroup is seeking a qualified professional for a long-term engagement in Norfolk, VA, with relocation support and NATO-5 visa. The role focuses on identifying and cataloguing emerging technologies, assessing adoption opportunities, and promoting experimentation within the innovation branch of a multinational defence organisation.

The candidate will build practical adoption examples, educate staff on opportunities and risks, and feed the science and technology programme.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree from a recognised university in computer science, information and communication technology, engineering or a related discipline.
• Fluent professional English.
• At least two years acquiring, assembling and interpreting research and technology information.
• Comfortable with office tooling and open-source research.

Responsabilités

A multinational defence organisation needs sustained analytical capacity on emerging and disruptive technologies. This role provides it — cataloguing, assessing and advising, inside the innovation branch.

What you would be doing

• Identifying new emerging technologies and cataloguing the existing ones.
• Assessing their implications and adoption opportunities on a continuing basis.
• Promoting experimentation with technology-based solutions in realistic environments.
• Feeding the science and technology programme of work and the foresight and defence planning strands it supports.
• Identifying capability shortfalls that adoption would close, from the planning products and the operational lessons.
• Educating staff on the opportunities and the risks.
• Running the knowledge base that shows the current state of adoption.
• Working as part of the innovation branch under multi-domain force development.

What you would bring

• A bachelor degree from a recognised university in computer science, information and communication technology, engineering or a related discipline.
• At least two years acquiring, assembling and interpreting research and technology information.
• Knowledge of national science and technology sources.
• Experience judging how future technology applies in a military environment.
• The ability to work analytically on technology documentation and build practical adoption examples.
• Comfortable with office tooling and open-source research.
• Fluent professional English.

This is a long engagement that renews year on year, not a short project.
