Sarens is looking for a technician to optimize the fleet of equipment for a major project in the Antwerp harbor region. Your responsibilities include inspecting equipment, performing maintenance, and troubleshooting technical issues on-site.

Ideal candidates have a doer mindset and a strong interest in large machines. Benefits include a gross hourly rate, allowances, group insurance, and coverage of transport and accommodation. This is a full-time project-based position with an estimated duration of 3 years.

Qualifications

• Logical insight required.
• Experience in maintenance or repair of rolling stock is a plus.
• Basic computer skills necessary.

Sarens Projects is for the upcoming 3 years involved in a huge industrial building project, located in Antwerp harbor region. On the project site, we will deliver all kinds of hoisting services, as from the smallest lift till the biggest load‑out, in a safe, qualitative and efficient way.

As a technician, you will be involved in keeping the fleet of equipment on the job site on Ineos Project One in optimal condition. During the peak of the project, there will be more than 50 mobile telescopic cranes working, about ten trucks with trailers and all kinds of auxiliary equipment. More than enough to get started and indulge your technical passion.

Your Job As a Technician In a Nutshell

• Inspecting and checking the current condition of equipment.
• Preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Troubleshooting: detecting and resolving technical faults of an electrical, hydraulic and mechanical nature.
• Reporting any additional/unusual malfunctions, deviations, damage, etc.
• Applying the safety rules within Sarens at all times.

In this position, you will report to the Fleet Coordinator Project One and work closely with the other Technicians and the on‑site operations crew.

PROFILE

We are looking for a problem‑solving Handy Harry who has been bitten by technology and heavy equipment. A nice diploma or years of experience can be a nice asset, but at Sarens we attach more importance to the right mentality.

Strong Asset

• Experience in maintenance or repair of rolling stock
• Knowledge and interest in one or more of these: electricity, hydraulics, mechanics.
• Fluent in English (reading and speaking).

• VCA - certificate (or equal)

• Project Based, Belgian contract - full-time (Possible in a rotation system). Estimated duration: 3 years.
