Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Geel, Belgium, is seeking a Technical Safety Engineer to lead safety for the ATLAS expansion project and ensure robust safety across design and delivery.

You will translate standards, guide external partners and collaborate with internal engineers to embed safety from concept through commissioning at the Geel site.

The role emphasizes ownership, cross-disciplinary teamwork, and ongoing development within a major site investment for future patient needs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering, ideally in chemical engineering, process engineering or process safety.
• Strong commitment to technical safety and relevant experience in pharma/chemical.
• Ability to make well-reasoned decisions on technical safety topics and explain rationale.
• See the bigger picture while maintaining attention to engineering details.
• Proactive approach to identifying innovative, practical safety solutions.
• Clear communication and ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn across technical safety disciplines.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the single point of contact for Global Engineering & Technology technical safety.
• Translate safety standards into clear expectations for design and execution.
• Guide external partners and align maintenance, engineering, operations and EHS stakeholders.
• Own and strengthen technical safety knowledge for the project.
• Identify risks and initiate actions to support engineering projects to completion.
• Contribute to the Geel GET Technical Safety team and the site Process Safety Management core team.
