Asenium is looking for an experienced Team Lead Testing to lead a six-person testing team on a strategic, long-term assignment.
The assignment supports a central platform within the Belgian energy market. The testing team is responsible for planning and executing the System Acceptance Testing (SAT) scope for major releases. Functional changes are tested manually, while sanity and regression tests are performed using a semi-automated testing tool.
The team will consist of one Team Lead, one Senior Test Specialist and four Medior Test Specialists. As the team’s primary point of contact, you will oversee testing strategy, planning, delivery and team performance while ensuring effective collaboration with business, technical and project stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, coordinate and support a team of testing professionals.
- Define the SAT strategy, approach, scenarios and priorities for major releases.
- Plan testing resources, activities, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Coordinate manual functional testing and semi-automated sanity and regression testing.
- Monitor test coverage, quality, risks and progress.
- Provide functional input to the external vendor preparing test automation scripts.
- Ensure effective defect registration, analysis and follow-up.
- Coordinate testing support for market participants and distribution grid operators during major releases.
- Report progress, defects, risks and blockers to Test Managers and project stakeholders.
- Manage dependencies and collaboration across complex, distributed teams.
- Coach team members and promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Take proactive action when delivery, quality or team performance requires improvement.
Required profile
- At least 8 years of experience in functional testing.
- At least 8 years of experience as a Team Lead within a testing environment.
- At least 8 years of experience coordinating complex, distributed teams.
- At least 6 years of experience as a People Manager and Coach.
- At least 5 years of experience as a Test Coordinator.
- Proven experience developing test strategies and scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of formal testing methodologies and techniques.
- Experience in both Agile/Scrum and Waterfall environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of SQL, SOAP UI and XML.
- Experience with DevOps, VBScript and test automation.
- Ability to read and understand technical design documentation.
- Proven experience in the Belgian energy sector.
- Knowledge of at least one of the following processes: structure, measure, cross-domain, billing, infeed or settlement.
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or higher.
- English at C1 level or above.
- French or Dutch at C1 level or above.
- Availability to work on-site in Brussels at least 2 days per week. Additional on-site presence or occasional travel may be required depending on project needs.
