Imec is seeking a System-Level Power and Thermal Modelling Researcher to advance modelling frameworks that quantify power, thermal, energy efficiency and performance across devices to full computing systems. You will work across device, circuit, architecture and design teams to translate emerging semiconductor technologies into system-level insights.

Qualifications

  • PhD in EE/CE/CS required.
  • Experience with power, thermal, or energy‑efficiency modelling.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and heterogeneous computing systems.
  • Experience developing simulation frameworks and research software.
  • Proficient in scientific programming and data analysis.
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical thinking and problem solving.

Responsabilités

  • Develop modelling frameworks that capture power and thermal interactions across multiple abstraction levels.
  • Study how architectural decisions, workloads, packaging, and cooling affect system-level energy efficiency, performance and thermal behaviour.
  • Develop simulation flows, analysis methodologies, and predictive models for DTCO/STCO studies.
  • Collaborate with device, circuit, architecture and physical design researchers to evaluate technology options.
  • Present research results to industrial partners and contribute to publications and strategic directions.
