IMEC is seeking a researcher to develop system-level power, thermal and energy-efficiency models for next‑generation heterogeneous computing systems built on advanced CMOS technologies. You will design modelling frameworks spanning devices to complete computing systems and evaluate how architecture, workload, packaging, and cooling affect energy, performance and thermal behaviour.

You will collaborate with device, circuit, architecture and physical design researchers to translate upcoming

Qualifications

  • PhD-level expertise in power, thermal or energy-efficiency modelling.
  • Strong background in modelling across devices to systems.
  • Experience developing simulation frameworks and research software.

Responsabilités

  • Develop system-level power, thermal and energy-efficiency models for future heterogeneous computing systems.
  • Create modelling frameworks capturing interactions across multiple abstraction levels.
  • Study impact of architecture, workload, packaging, cooling, and integration on energy and performance.
  • Build simulation flows and predictive models for DTCO/STCO studies and guide technology decisions.
  • Present results to industrial partners and contribute to publications and strategic research directions.
