Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a supervisor at our Ghlin site to lead a team of 8-10 team leaders and two supervisors. The role focuses on operational performance, Lean improvements, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in logistics or related field, strong logistics leadership experience, and is fluent in English with conversational French. The position requires driving and a 37-hour work week, Monday to Friday.

• Deliver customer metrics on quality and responsiveness
• Prepare daily/weekly reports documenting processes and outcomes
• Reduce environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water and fuel consumption

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a supervisor, at our site in Ghlin, this is supporting a leading technology brand at one of our data centers.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced supervisor or a team leader looking to take that next step. Previous experience within a logistics or Supply chain is required.

• You will be leading a team of 8 - 10 team leaders, along with two other Supervisors
• You are constantly managing and motivating your team from an operational level
• You strive for process and continuous improvements, with a strong focus on Lean principles
• You will need to drive due to location
• You will be fluent in Enghlish and conversational in French
• Hours Monday to Friday – 37 hours a week

What you do on a typical day - Supervisor

• Ensures daily/ shift distribution and light manufacturing activities are executed and accountable for performance shortfalls – develop corrective action plans when performance falls below target
• Manages performance continually; develops associates by providing training and coaching
• Supervises and develops staff and otherwise carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Assigns duties and monitors work completion for accuracy
• Maintains a safe work environment and fosters a positive team dynamic, resolving employee relations issues and administering corrective action as required
• Responsible for achieving customer metrics (quality and responsiveness)
• Focus on lean principles, 5’s, process and continuous improvements
• Monitor and adjust personnel scheduling to support all shifts and accounts, plan and organize staff workload
• Maintain daily- and week reports, documentation of processes that are followed by the department
• Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water and fuel consumption

What you need to succeed at GXO

• Bachelor’s degree, e.g. in logistics, engineering, operations management, supply chain management
• Strong leadership experience needed within a logistics or supply chain environment
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English, and conversational French
• Self-driven, resilient, and able to thrive in a challenging environment
• Analytical and ability to produce productivity data for reporting purposes
• Able to work in a diverse environment and gain exposure to an international working environment
• Committed to delivering high quality work and have a professional critical attitude and a straight back
