Virya Energy, a frontrunner in hydrogen development, is seeking a Study Engineer Hydrogen to support projects from concept to investment decision and realization. You will combine engineering, data analysis, and investment studies to help decarbonize industry across Belgium.

You will work within Virya H2, contributing to feasibility assessments and optimization of production assets while interfacing with business developers and external partners.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• 3-8 years of experience in technical studies, feasibility studies, or engineering projects in energy/infrastructure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
• Affinity with energy infrastructure, renewable energy, hydrogen or related technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Fluent in Dutch, English, French.

Responsabilités

• Develop the technical foundations of large-scale green hydrogen projects in Belgium.
• Participate in technical studies supporting hydrogen project development.
• Carry out feasibility studies and analyze large datasets to assess viability.
• Coordinate relationships with external engineering firms and study agencies.

As part of Virya Energy's hydrogen activities, you'll join a specialized team developing a growing portfolio of hydrogen production plants and hydrogen refueling stations across Belgium and the Netherlands, with ambitions to expand further. We combine production development with innovative infrastructure solutions through DATS 24's refueling network, while actively shaping the hydrogen market by establishing strategic partnerships with off takers. This unique position allows us to drive the entire hydrogen value chain forward, from production to end-user applications. We are hiring a Study Engineer Hydrogen who will support hydrogen projects from the concept phase through investment decision-making and subsequently contribute to their successful realization.

Your responsibilities

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or Civil Engineering.
• 3-8 years of experience in technical studies, feasibility studies, or engineering projects within the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Affinity with energy infrastructure, renewable energy, hydrogen, or related technologies.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent in Dutch, English, French.
