Virya Energy is seeking a Project Manager to lead hydrogen production and refuelling projects in Flanders and Wallonia. You will coordinate projects from concept to completion, managing costs and resources while ensuring compliance with contracts.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Industrial or Civil Engineering, 5-7 years of experience in energy technologies, and is fluent in English, French and/or Dutch. The position offers a hybrid working model and includes site visits supported by a green company car.

Job Description

As part of Virya Energy's hydrogen activities, you'll join a specialized team developing a growing portfolio of hydrogen production plants across Belgium and the Netherlands, with ambitions to expand further. We combine production development with innovative infrastructure solutions through DATS 24's refuelling network, while actively shaping the hydrogen market by establishing strategic partnerships with off‑takers. This unique position allows us to drive the entire hydrogen value chain forward, from production to end‑user applications. As part of Virya Energy's broader renewable energy portfolio, we leverage the group's extensive experience across the energy sector while maintaining our focused expertise in hydrogen development.

We are looking for a Project Manager to support the development of our hydrogen production and refuelling projects in Flanders and Wallonia. Join us in driving the green transition!

Your Role

• Lead and coordinate projects from concept to completion.
• Monitor project planning, milestones, and overall achievements.
• Manage project costs and resource allocation.
• Negotiate with site owners, grid operators, and suppliers.
• Oversee permitting processes and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, procurement, and finance teams.
• Ensure compliance with purchase contracts and streamline project execution.
• Grow your expertise in hydrogen and renewable energy technologies.

Profile

Job requirements

• Master’s degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering, with expertise in electricity, grid capacities, energy markets, or hydrogen.
• 5-7 years’ experience in energy technologies, hydrogen, industrial gases, or renewable energy.
• Experience in a coordinating role, ensuring smooth execution and clear agreements.
• You have proven project management skills: you plan efficiently, work proactively, and consistently drive results.
• Your experience in a technical coordination role enables you to align teams, ensure seamless project execution, and translate technical requirements into clear, actionable agreements.
• You thrive in an independent role and highly value teamwork. You enjoy taking ownership while working closely with colleagues and partners to deliver safe, innovative, and high‑quality hydrogen production facilities.
• Fluent knowledge of English, French and/or Dutch is required.
• You are willing to travel regularly, in addition, you work 2 to 3 daysper week at the office.
