Job summary

Virya Energy is hiring a Study Engineer Hydrogen to support hydrogen projects from concept through investment decision and realization. Join a focused team developing hydrogen plants and refueling stations across Belgium and the Netherlands, with a pathway to expand further in Europe.

You will assess technical and economic feasibility by combining engineering, data analysis, and investment studies to support decarbonization efforts in industry.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Industrial or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–8 years of experience in technical studies, feasibility studies, or engineering projects in energy or industrial sectors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to translate data into insights.
• Fluent in Dutch, English and French.

Responsibilities

• Develop the technical foundations for large-scale green hydrogen projects in Belgium.
• Participate in technical studies supporting hydrogen production projects.
• Carry out feasibility studies and analyze large datasets for viability.
• Coordinate and manage relationships with external engineering firms.
• Support investment decisions via yield calculations and techno-economic assessments.
• Provide technical support and optimization for operating installations.
• Monitor, manage, and optimize performance of active production assets.
• Support procurement, design, and commissioning of new installations.
• Contribute to maintenance, planning, and production optimization projects.
• Work closely with Business Developers and provide technical expertise throughout the project development process.
