Pauwels Consulting is seeking a seasoned QA professional to ensure the quality of software solutions within a digital transformation program. You will define test strategies, review requirements, and lead test design, automation, and reporting across delivery teams.

The role requires 8+ years in software testing (manual & automated), strong API testing expertise, and advanced Java/REST/XML/XSD/WSDL knowledge. Hybrid work from Brussels, ASAP start, 14 months contract with potential for permanency.

Formación

• 8+ years of professional software testing experience including manual and automated testing.
• Extensive expertise in defining test strategies and API testing.
• Advanced knowledge of Java, REST, XML, XSD, and WSDL.
• 5+ years analyzing and modeling complex business processes.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools such as Playwright and ReadyAPI.
• Experience with Jira and Xray for test management and defect tracking.
• Groovy Script or equivalent scripting language for automation.
• Experience in Agile development environments.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• Fluent in English and either Dutch or French, with basic knowledge of the other language.

The role involves overseeing technical and functional validation, defining strategies, and collaborating across software delivery teams to enhance the end-user experience.

• Define and implement comprehensive test strategies to ensure software reliability.
• Review business requirements and analysis documents to identify testing priorities.
• Design, execute, and manage complex test cases, scenarios, and plans.
• Automate test cases for APIs and UIs using specialized testing tools.
• Monitor defect lifecycles, resolve issues, and produce detailed quality reports.
• Assist project teams in estimating testing efforts and refining test deliverables.
• Drive continuous improvement of internal testing processes and quality assurance standards.

• You bring 8+ years of professional experience in software testing, covering both manual and automated methodologies.
• You possess extensive expertise in defining test strategies and performing API testing.
• You have advanced knowledge of testing Java services, REST APIs, XML, XSD, and WSDL.
• You bring 5+ years of experience in analyzing and modelling complex business processes and workflows.
• You have hands‑on experience with testing tools such as Playwright and ReadyAPI.
• You possess experience using Jira and Xray for test management and defect tracking.
• You have experience with Groovy Script or an equivalent scripting language for automation.
• You bring experience working within Agile development environments.
• You possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
• You are fluent in English and either Dutch or French, with at least basic knowledge of the other national language (French or Dutch).

Nice to Haves

• Possession of an ISTQB certification.
• Familiarity with public administration systems or similar regulatory domains.
• Knowledge of OWASP security verification standards.
