Federal Public Sector in Belgium is expanding its delivery teams to advance a cloud‑native, microservice‑based case management platform. This role focuses on API testing, test automation and CI/CD integration using Java SE10+.

You will define the test strategy, implement automated API/UI tests, run performance and security campaigns, and ensure rapid feedback through CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years hands-on testing experience with senior responsibilities.
• Experience with API testing (OpenAPI) and contract validation.
• Proficiency in Java SE10+ and scripting (Python, JavaScript, Bash/PowerShell).
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps) and with Maven.

Responsabilités

• Define and maintain an operational test strategy and sprint-level test plan that aligns with API contracts and cloud-native design.
• Design and implement automated API and E2E test suites, including contract testing, mocking and service virtualisation for reliable CI/CD validation.
• Implement performance, stress and load test scenarios and analyse results to provide actionable recommendations.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and code review workflows to give fast feedback to developers.
• Configure monitoring and observability for test environments and validate production-like behaviour and security controls.
• Coach team members on test automation best practices, TDD, and secure testing techniques during sprint events.

A federal public‑sector organisation running a multi‑project modernization programme for case management is expanding its delivery teams to complete the eDossier programme. The programme delivers a cloud‑native, microservice‑based platform with REST APIs and strict security requirements; this role focuses on API testing, test automation and CI/CD integration using Java SE10+ and standard test frameworks.

The mission

The programme delivers a secure, cloud‑native case management solution composed of microservices, external adapters and commercial off‑the‑shelf components, with a multi‑year roadmap and firm delivery milestones through 2028. Quality gates must cover API contract validation, security, performance and end‑to‑end user flows so internal and external stakeholders can accept releases with confidence.

You will be a senior test engineer embedded in a cross‑functional delivery team of experienced engineers, analysts and product stakeholders. Daily work includes defining the test strategy for services and APIs, implementing automated API and UI test suites, integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (fast feedback), running performance and security test campaigns, and setting up monitoring and observability for test environments.

Your responsibilities

Your profile

Essential skills

• +10 years hands‑on experience in testing roles, with senior‑level responsibility for test strategy and delivery
• Proven experience with api testing and API contract validation (openAPI), and with API test frameworks and mocking/service virtualisation
• Hands‑on experience with java se10+, plus scripting in Python, JavaScript and Bash or PowerShell
• Demonstrable experience integrating automated tests into ci/cd pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred) and using build tools such as Maven
• Experience with performance testing tools such as jmeter or Gatling, and with security testing practices for authentication, authorization and encryption
• Experience with E2E, integration, unit and regression testing, and with version control, pull requests and code quality tooling
• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases and of monitoring/observability tooling such as Grafana
• Comfortable working in agile delivery teams, contributing to sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives
