Job summary

Vivadax BV is seeking a Freelance Senior Test Engineer for a 1-year contract in Belgium. The role blends on-site and remote work (hybrid) with responsibilities spanning test design, automation, API testing, and performance testing across multiple software projects.

You will own test strategy, build robust automated suites, and mentor junior engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable releases and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years as Test/QA/Automation Engineer with senior duties.
• Hands-on in building/maintaining automation frameworks.
• Strong API and integration testing experience.
• CI/CD integration of automated tests (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps).
• Familiar with performance testing tools and concepts.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum; BDD knowledge a plus.
• Exposure to ERP/enterprise systems beneficial.
• ISTQB Foundation/Advanced certifications are a plus.
• English plus French or Dutch for client/stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test cases (functional, integration, regression, end-to-end).
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback.
• Perform API testing using Postman, SoapUI, or REST Assured.
• Conduct performance and load testing with JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
• Report defects and perform root-cause analysis with developers.
• Review requirements for testability and gaps (shift-left).
• Define test data and environments with IT/development teams.
• Mentor junior test engineers and promote best practices.
