Wlgroup in Belgium, Mons, seeks an experienced network engineer to design, implement and optimise satellite-enabled IP services across terrestrial and satellite links. You will work on hub-and-spoke, mesh and point-to-point architectures in operational deployments and exercises.

You should have five years in IP networking, CCNA/CCNP, and hands-on experience with GRE, IPSec, L2TP, OSPF/IS-IS, VLANs, and WAN technologies.

Qualifications

At least five years in IP networking, routing, switching and troubleshooting complex environments.
Degree or higher vocational training in telecommunications, electronics, IT or related field.
Experience supporting satellite, WAN or deployed communication systems in operational contexts.
Solid fundamentals: TCP/IP, addressing, MTU/MSS, and Layer 2/3 networking.
CCNA or equivalent; CCNP Enterprise preferred.

Responsabilités

Provide technical expertise in design, integration, operation and optimisation of satellite network architectures — hub-and-spoke, mesh, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint.
Support the integration and management of hybrid satellite services, military and commercial.
Design end-to-end IP services across satellite and terrestrial infrastructure.
Design and implement layer two and layer three services: VLAN tagging, Q-in-Q, VLAN translation, trunking and traffic segmentation.
Configure, operate, optimise and troubleshoot SCPC, MCPC, TDMA and other satellite access schemes.
Diagnose end-to-end connectivity problems - routing faults, tunnel failures, packet loss, high latency, asymmetric routing.
Support operational deployments, exercises and mission-related activity.
Work within the service management processes and contribute to service performance reporting.
