About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Performance/Resilience Test Engineer to join a major European Agency project and support the delivery of highly scalable, reliable, and resilient digital solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing non-functional testing activities to ensure applications meet performance, capacity, scalability, and reliability requirements.
You will work closely with architects, developers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and project stakeholders to identify performance bottlenecks, assess system resilience, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in complex cloud-native and distributed environments.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain non-functional test plans and contribute to their review and validation with project leaders and managers.
- Define and implement end-to-end non-functional testing strategies aligned with project objectives and technical requirements.
- Plan, prepare, execute, and analyze non-functional testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Design, develop, and maintain performance testing scripts using tools such as JMeter or Gatling.
- Prepare, manage, and maintain performance test environments and test data.
- Execute and monitor a variety of non-functional tests, including:
- Load Testing
- Stress Testing
- Endurance Testing
- Capacity Testing
- Resilience Testing
- Recovery Testing
- Analyze application and infrastructure resource utilization, identify performance bottlenecks, and investigate root causes of degradation.
- Review test results and provide recommendations to improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and stability.
- Support development and QA teams in executing non-functional testing activities.
- Contribute to the definition of standards, methodologies, and best practices for performance and resilience testing.
- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to validate system behavior in cloud-native and microservices-based architectures.
- Provide regular reports, findings, and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to testing processes, tools, and automation frameworks.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 6 years of professional experience in non-functional testing and performance engineering.
- Proven experience designing and executing performance, scalability, and resilience testing activities.
- Experience working within Agile software development and testing environments.
- Experience working on complex enterprise solutions with multiple integrated systems.
- Experience working in international and multicultural environments.
- Experience supporting cloud-based and distributed application architectures.
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter and/or Gatling.
