Senior Network Engineer — On-Site, NATO Security-Cleared

Job summary

Spektrum supports apex purchasers (NATO, UN, EU, and National Government and Defence) and their Tier 1 supplier ecosystem with specialist services. We are looking for personnel to join our team and support key client projects, including the NATO Communications and Information Agency in Brussels.

The role focuses on enterprise network engineering, routing and switching, and incident management. On-site work in Belgium is required, with some travel to NATO sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum CCNP certification (Enterprise or equivalent advanced networking certification).
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering and operations.
• Strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, STP).
• Experience with Splunk for monitoring, log analysis, troubleshooting, dashboards, and alerting.
• Hands-on knowledge of network monitoring tools.
• Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and major outage resolution.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily network operations, tickets, incidents, work orders, changes and problem management.
• Network optimization, capacity planning, upgrades, and lifecycle activities across enterprise environments.
• Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, and STP.
• Monitor network health using CA Spectrum and Splunk and other monitoring platforms; create dashboards, alerts, and operational reports.
• Analyze logs and telemetry data to proactively identify risks, incidents, and performance issues.
• Improve operational efficiency through automation of configuration management, backups, and change validation.
• Utilize network monitoring tools to track availability, latency, bandwidth, and device health.
• Lead incident response for critical outages, coordinate stakeholders, and restore services within SLA targets.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex network issues and strategic initiatives.
• Maintain accurate documentation, standards, and operational procedures for the network environment.
