Brunel in Brussels is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join an international network team responsible for critical infrastructure across Europe. You will operate, maintain and secure large-scale LAN/WAN and datacenter networks, with a focus on Cisco technologies and cloud connectivity.

You will contribute to network modernization, automation with Python and Ansible, and collaborate with global teams. The role requires on-call duty and a hybrid work arrangement after an initial onsite period.

Brunel is looking for a Senior Network Engineer for a long-term assignment in the Brussels region.

You will join an international network team that supports business critical infrastructure across multiple European locations.

Do you have extensive experience with Cisco networking, cloud connectivity and network automation? Are you available on short notice, then you are the Network Engineer we are looking for!

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, improving and securing a large-scale network environment.

You will contribute to network operations, cloud connectivity initiatives, datacenter-related projects and network modernization efforts while ensuring high service availability across international locations.

• Operate and maintain LAN, WAN and datacenter network infrastructure
• Support routing, switching, wireless and security platforms
• Contribute to cloud connectivity and infrastructure improvement projects
• Implement automation solutions using Python and/or Ansible
• Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams
• Provide support for European sites when required
• Prepare and execute infrastructure changes with attention to stability and security

On-call participation is required as part of a rotating standby schedule of approximately one week in four.

You will work full-time onsite during the first three months. Afterwards, you will be able to work 2 days remotely, depending on operational requirements.

Profile

We are looking for an experienced networking professional with a strong background in enterprise environments.

You are comfortable working across network operations and project activities, communicating effectively with different stakeholders and enjoy taking ownership of technical solutions.

• Strong knowledge of routing and switching protocols including OSPF, ISIS, MP-BGP and MST
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Wireless environments
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure
• Experience with Python and/or Ansible automation
• Knowledge of monitoring solutions, NAC and central syslog platforms
• Experience with firewall technologies such as Palo Alto and Check Point
• Experience with Cisco SD-WAN and/or Cisco ACI
• Knowledge of TACACS and RADIUS servers is considered an asset
• Experience with Cisco ASR, ISR, Catalyst and Nexus platforms

Fluent in Dutch or French and English.
