Job summary

NTT DATA Belgium seeks a Senior Life Insurance Consultant / Business Analyst to bridge business and technology, delivering transformation, process optimization, and digital innovation in Life Insurance. You will collaborate with stakeholders, IT teams, and domain experts to translate needs into actionable solutions.

You will drive operating model design, process improvements, and ensure solutions deliver measurable business value within Agile delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Consultant in Insurance.
• Strong Life Insurance expertise including individual/group/employee benefits.
• Solid understanding of insurance products and end-to-end processes.
• Experience collaborating with business and IT stakeholders on transformation.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools (Jira/Confluence).

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison between business stakeholders and IT to translate needs into requirements.
• Analyze current processes, identify gaps, and design target operating models.
• Challenge and align business and tech teams to maximize value.
• Support digital transformation across Life Insurance domains: policy admin, distribution, underwriting, claims, and customer engagement.
• Contribute to implementation, optimization, or modernization of core Life Insurance platforms.
• Define and coordinate user acceptance testing, training, documentation, and change management.
• Collaborate in Agile environments, participating in Sprint/PI planning and backlog refinement.
• Contribute to growth of Insurance Practice through knowledge sharing and mentoring.

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Life Insurance Consultant / Business Analyst to join our growing Insurance Practice in Belgium. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business and technology, helping leading insurance organizations deliver transformation, process optimization, and digital innovation initiatives. You will work closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and domain experts to design and implement solutions that create measurable business value. Your role

• Act as the key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to translate business needs into functional requirements and actionable solutions.
• Analyze current business processes, identify gaps, and design target operating models and process improvements.
• Challenge and align business and technical teams to ensure proposed solutions deliver maximum value and business benefits.
• Support digital transformation initiatives across Life Insurance domains, including policy administration, distribution, underwriting, claims, and customer engagement.
• Contribute to the implementation, optimization, or modernization of core Life Insurance platforms.
• Define and coordinate business acceptance testing, training activities, documentation, and change management plans to ensure successful adoption.
• Collaborate in Agile delivery environments, participating in Sprint Planning, PI Planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder workshops.
• Contribute to the growth of the Insurance Practice through knowledge sharing, thought leadership, recruitment support, and mentoring of junior consultants.

Your profile

• Master's degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5-8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Analyst, or Consultant within the Insurance sector.
• Strong expertise in Life Insurance, including Individual Life and/or Group Insurance & Employee Benefits.
• Solid understanding of insurance products, end-to-end business processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience collaborating with both business and IT stakeholders to deliver complex transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms.
• Practical experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate analysis, documentation, and solution design activities.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Dutch or French, with a good understanding of the other national language, and professional proficiency in English.
• Results-oriented mindset with strong interpersonal skills and a hands‑on approach.
• Nice to Have Experience with commercial Life Insurance core systems or policy administration platforms.
• Knowledge of process optimization methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Service Design.
• Experience working in international or multicultural project environments.
• Project management experience or certifications such as PRINCE2, PMI, or equivalent.
• Previous coaching, mentoring, or team leadership experience.
