Meritis is seeking a Senior Java Developer to strengthen a risk management-focused team within a dynamic B2B platform environment. The role involves joining an international setting to collaborate with business, IT, and data teams on mission-critical risk management applications for energy operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 7 years of professional Java development experience.
• Fluent in French or Dutch; strong professional proficiency in English.

Mission Context

For one of our clients, a leading player in the energy sector, we are looking for a Senior Java Developer to strengthen a team responsible for Risk Management applications.

You will join a dynamic B2B platform within an international and business-critical environment. Working closely with business, IT, and data teams, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of mission-critical applications supporting energy operations and risk management processes.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality software solutions while mentoring junior developers and promoting technical excellence across the team.

Software Development & Technical Design

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance Java applications.
• Lead the development of critical software components while ensuring timely delivery.
• Design and enhance REST APIs and microservices-based architectures.

Technical Excellence & Quality

• Ensure high code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and development best practices.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues to guarantee application reliability.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation while sharing knowledge across the team.
• Mentor junior developers and support their technical growth.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and promote innovation within the team.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in an Agile and DevOps environment.

You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with at least 7 years of professional experience in Java development.

Technical Skills

• Java 11 and/or Java 17
• Front-end development (Vue.js preferred)
• Responsive HTML5 / CSS3
• Agile methodologies (Scrum) and DevOps practices

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Technical leadership and mentoring experience

Languages
