Job summary

All European Careers BENELUX is seeking a Senior IT Operations Engineer to optimize and secure hybrid cloud infrastructure in Brussels. You will manage containerized environments with Docker/Kubernetes, support network architecture, and implement automation across Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines. English fluency is required.

Candidates based in Europe within 2 hours of Brussels and willing to be on-site 5 days per month will be considered. A work permit is required but not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/IT/Systems Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of professional IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration.
• Experience with network architecture, distributed systems and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, Redis/LRU caching.
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation; familiar with Ansible.
• Git, Jenkins and GitLab CI for version control and CI/CD.
• Knowledge of security and vulnerability tools (OWASP, SonarQube), encryption and identity management.
• Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants like GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize IT infrastructure and containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Support network architecture and distributed systems integration across hybrid cloud environments.
• Manage monitoring, performance and real-time alerts with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Implement and maintain load balancing, caching and messaging with Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ.
• Support relational and NoSQL databases.
• Automate provisioning/configuration with Terraform, CloudFormation and Ansible.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Apply security best practices, encryption, identity management, and vulnerability scanning.
