Pauwels Consulting in Brussels is seeking a senior IT infrastructure expert to bridge business needs and technical solutions. The role concentrates on early analysis and maturation of server-related infrastructure requests, with a focus on requirements and solution shaping at a conceptual level.

Responsibilities include translating requests into structured requirements, conducting deep-dive analyses, and collaborating with Windows, Linux, IAM, and Database teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT infrastructure experience in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Broad knowledge of server environments including Windows Server, Linux Red Hat and virtualization.
• Experience with identity & access management components such as Active Directory, ADFS and modern authentication.
• Understanding of databases, storage, application management and containerized solutions.
• Proven ability to gather requirements and prepare technical decision material at a conceptual level.
• Ability to explain trade-offs to stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds.
• Strong analytical skills, organizational discipline and a security-focused mindset.
• Fluent English with native-level Dutch or French and knowledge of the other language.

Our client, a key organization in the European energy landscape, is looking for a senior expert to bridge the gap between business needs and technical infrastructure solutions. This role focuses on the early analysis and maturation of complex server-related infrastructure requests to ensure sustainable and reliable system growth. The position operates at a conceptual level, focusing on requirement analysis and solution shaping rather than hands-on implementation.

• Translate complex business requests into structured, assessable infrastructure requirements across multiple domains.
• Conduct deep-dive requirement analysis and fact-finding for projects involving various server-related infrastructure teams.
• Collaborate with technical subject matter experts in Windows, Linux, IAM, and Database teams to identify viable solution directions.
• Document technical constraints, dependencies, risks, and operational impacts for proposed infrastructure changes.
• Prepare comprehensive request files and decision material for review by executive boards and stakeholders.
• Assess request alignment with existing organizational IT standards and identify areas where standards require maturation.

• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure within complex enterprise environments of 500+ employees.
• Broad technical knowledge of server environments including Windows Server, Linux Red Hat, and virtualization technologies.
• Proven expertise in identity and access management components such as Active Directory, ADFS, and modern authentication methods.
• Understanding of databases, storage, application management, and containerized solutions.
• Strong experience in requirement gathering, fact-finding, and preparing technical decision material at a conceptual level.
• Demonstrated ability to identify solution trade-offs and explain them to stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds.
• Possess strong analytical skills, organizational discipline, and a security-focused mindset.
• You are fluent in English with native-level proficiency in either Dutch or French and active knowledge of the other.
