ChristianaCare is seeking a full-time Inpatient Coding Coordinator IV responsible for timely and accurate coding for reimbursement and data collection. Coordinates daily responsibilities of coding and support staff to ensure quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes accuracy, adherence to CMS/AHIMA guidelines, and educational duties to improve documentation and coding practices across the health system.

Qualifications

• Three years coding experience in a Health Information Management Department or equivalent.
• Certification or degree inRHIA/RHIT/CCS or equivalent.
• College credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

Responsabilités

• Timely prebill review and audit inpatient records to capture final DRG.
• Analyze clinical data and identify gaps in physician documentation.
• Analyze and report trends for improvement in coding and documentation.
• Verify coding and abstracting accuracy through reviews.
• Communicate with physicians to validate diagnoses and documentation prompts.
