ChristianaCare Health System seeks a Diet Clerk I to support patient nutrition services and meal operations. Serve as a liaison between patients, nursing staff, dietitians, and Food & Nutrition Services to ensure physician-ordered diets are met and dining experience is exceptional.

The role emphasizes strong communication, customer service, and understanding of nutrition and therapeutic diets, combining patient interaction with administrative duties to support optimal care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn food service management systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Completion of post-secondary nutrition coursework or CDM certification.
• Experience with food service in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Experience with therapeutic diets.

Responsabilités

• Review and oversee patient meal selections to ensure diet compliance and nutritional goals.
• Interview patients regarding meal satisfaction and educational needs.
• Resolve food service issues and perform service recovery for a positive patient experience.
• Collaborate with dietitians to support patients' nutritional needs.
• Oversee meal service operations and tray line accuracy and quality.
• Utilize CBORD system to process diet requisitions, tray changes, inventory, and billing requests.
• Generate reports and maintain meal service records; participate in QA activities.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new diet clerks and staff.
