University of Delaware is seeking a part-time Patient Service Representative to support the UD Health clinic operations. The role involves greeting patients, collecting payments, verifying insurance, and updating patient records across UD Health sites.

You will assist with scheduling, documentation, and billing while maintaining HIPAA standards and confidentiality. Flexibility to travel between UD Health clinic locations and adjust work locations as needed is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; health/education setting experience preferred.
• Experience in office operations or customer service.
• Experience in data collection from multiple sources.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and confidentiality.
• Strong time management and prioritization skills.

Responsabilités

• Respond to routine and non-routine inquiries from patients and insurers.
• Verify and process financial documents; review accounts and collect due amounts.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-payments.
• Process credit card payments; balance daily cash deposits.
• Investigate inquiries and direct to appropriate staff for resolution.
• Maintain schedule utilization and perform scheduling tasks.
• Checkout patients after appointments; schedule follow-ups.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI and comply with HIPAA policies.
• Operate with minimal supervision utilizing EMR billing software.
