Job summary

Loop Earplugs in Antwerp/Amsterdam is seeking a Senior Product Design Engineering Lead to own system level mechanical architecture from concept to mass production. You’ll translate product requirements into manufacturable, reliable mechanical solutions and lead cross-functional squads.

You’ll drive material and process choices, perform root cause analysis, and ensure design integrity across design, validation, and manufacturing partners, shaping scalable hardware decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or a related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical product design experience, ideally in consumer electronics or hardware.
• Deep expertise in 3D CAD with tolerancing, material selection, and stack ups.
• Experience with injection molding, die casting, CNC, and supplier collaboration.
• Root cause analysis, DFMEA, prototyping, and validation testing.
• Ability to influence technical decisions across multiple partners.

Responsibilities

• Own system level mechanical architecture from early concepts through production readiness.
• Translate PRD into Engineering Requirements Document guiding design, validation, and reliability testing.
• Drive material and manufacturing process selection aligned with performance, cost, and timeline.
• Lead root cause analysis and risk mitigation for mechanical issues across late stage builds.
• Guide cross functional technical decisions and align trade offs with long term goals.
• Drive engineering sprints enabling milestones like PRD lock and vendor selection.
• Build partnerships across engineering, design, product, operations, quality, and sourcing.
• Surface technical risks early and enable clear decision making.
