Cefaly Technology, Liège, Belgium, seeks an R&D Director to design, develop and maintain the hardware and embedded firmware of our neurostimulation devices. You will collaborate with software, mechanical, QA, and regulatory teams to ensure safe, compliant products for market launch.

Ideal candidates have 4–7+ years in hardware, strong C/C++ firmware skills on ARM MCUs, and proven experience with medical device standards and documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in hardware development for medical devices is essential.
• Strong knowledge of IEC 62304, IEC 60601-1, ISO 14971, ISO 13485.

Responsabilités

• Design and develop medical-grade hardware for neurostimulation devices.
• Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers.
• Plan hardware V&V per IEC 62304/60601-1 and related standards.
• Prepare technical documentation for CE marking and FDA submissions.
• Maintain DHF, ISO 14971 risk analyses, and development plans.
• Lead design reviews and root-cause analyses for problems.
• Support manufacturing with hardware troubleshooting and improvements.
• Evaluate components and suppliers for quality and reliability.
• Keep current with regulatory changes and QMS under ISO 13485.
