element61 is seeking a Senior Databricks Data Engineer to design and deliver data platforms on Databricks for diverse clients. You will own platforms from requirements to production and guide colleagues through complex architectural decisions.

You will collaborate with a high-caliber team, leveraging Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Lakeflow, while applying AI capabilities via Databricks Genie. English plus Dutch or French is preferred.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a data engineer or in BI
• 2+ years in the cloud, preferably Azure
• Strong data modelling and coding (SQL, Python, PySpark)
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, Spark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, streaming and CDC
• Fluent in English and Dutch or French; Databricks certification a plus
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate or Professional is a plus or open to obtaining it

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain ETL pipelines and data models on Databricks, Spark and Delta Lake
• Implement streaming and Change Data Capture with Lakeflow and Declarative Pipelines
• Establish governance and access control in Unity Catalog
• Bring AI into the platform with Databricks Genie and Genie Spaces
• Translate customer questions into technical solutions and implement in Databricks
• Coach colleagues and client teams, review their work
