Job summary

DICE - Data Intelligence Community Experts is leading a data-driven transformation with a focus on AI, governance, and value creation. You will serve as a senior technical and functional reference for advanced Data Science and AI initiatives across the full lifecycle.

You will collaborate with business, Data and IT teams, challenge requirements, assess feasibility and value, and develop scalable AI solutions while shaping enterprise-wide governance in alignment with the EU AI Act.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a quantitative/technical field; equivalent professional experience accepted.
• 7+ years of experience in Data Science, ML, or AI with end-to-end delivery from scoping to production and monitoring.
• Hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, ML, and generative AI with understanding of MLOps.
• Experience as a senior technical reference, guiding and coaching team members.
• Ability to challenge requirements, assess value/feasibility, and translate topics for business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with enterprise-wide AI governance and regulatory compliance.
• Comfort coordinating cross-functional stakeholders in a regulated environment.
• Fluent in English and in French or Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Science and AI initiatives across their full lifecycle from scoping to deployment and monitoring.

As part of this transformation, the organization is developing its capabilities in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence to support business decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and generate measurable business value.

The Data & AI function contributes across the full data value creation lifecycle: understanding and challenging business needs, framing use cases, conducting business and data analyses, developing statistical and Artificial Intelligence models, measuring business impact, supporting business teams in data-driven decision-making, and promoting the responsible and governed use of data.

In this context, our client is progressively strengthening its Artificial Intelligence strategy and expanding its use of AI across the organization. This includes establishing appropriate governance practices and ensuring alignment with internal standards and regulatory requirements, including the EU AI Act.

YOUR MISSION

As a Senior Data Science & AI Expert, you will act as a senior technical and functional reference for advanced Data Science and Artificial Intelligence initiatives.

You will lead Data Science and AI use cases throughout their complete lifecycle, from initial business scoping and value assessment through development, operational deployment, adoption, and performance monitoring.

You will also provide hands-on expertise, guidance, advice, and coaching to strengthen the capabilities of the wider Data & AI team.

Working closely with business stakeholders as well as Data and IT teams, you will challenge requirements, assess feasibility and expected value, and develop or supervise the delivery of robust and scalable solutions.

You will also play a key role in defining, structuring, and implementing our client's enterprise-wide AI governance framework. You will help ensure that AI initiatives are consistently identified, assessed, approved, monitored, and managed with regard to business value, investment, risk, and regulatory compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Data Science & AI initiatives

• Lead Data Science and AI use cases across their full lifecycle, from business scoping and value assessment to development, deployment, adoption, and performance monitoring.


• Challenge business requirements, assess technical and business feasibility, define success criteria, and provide clear recommendations to support prioritization and investment decisions.


• Develop advanced analytics, Machine Learning, and generative AI solutions, or supervise their delivery when other team members or external partners are involved.


• Coordinate business, Data, and IT stakeholders, while managing the risks, dependencies, and decisions required to move use cases forward.

Act as the senior technical expert

• Provide hands-on guidance, review the work delivered by team members, and coach less experienced colleagues to strengthen their Data Science and AI capabilities.


• Define and promote robust technical practices and standards.


• Advise business stakeholders and management on AI opportunities, limitations, implementation approaches, and technology choices.

Define and implement AI governance

• Lead the definition and implementation of our client's enterprise-wide AI governance framework, in line with internal standards, responsible AI principles, and the requirements of the EU AI Act.


• Establish practical processes to identify and assess AI initiatives, validate implementations, support investment decisions, track expected and realized value, and ensure regulatory compliance across the organization.

YOUR PROFILE

• You hold a university degree in a quantitative or technical field, or have equivalent professional experience.


• You have at least 7 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence, including end-to-end delivery of solutions from business scoping through production and monitoring.


• You combine strong hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, Machine Learning, and generative AI with a solid understanding of industrialization and MLOps.


• You have acted as a senior technical reference, providing guidance, reviewing work, and coaching less experienced team members.


• You are able to challenge business needs, assess value and feasibility, and translate complex technical topics into clear recommendations for business stakeholders and management.


• You have a good understanding of enterprise-wide AI governance and the ability to help establish a framework to identify, assess, approve, and oversee AI initiatives, investments, value creation, and regulatory compliance across the organization.


• You are comfortable coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and operating in a regulated environment.


• You are fluent in English and in either French or Dutch.
