Job summary

EY is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize EY's data ecosystem. You will turn complex data into reliable, scalable data platforms and collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts and technology teams to enable data-driven decisions across the organization.

You will help advance modern data platforms, improve data accessibility, and contribute to analytics and AI initiatives while promoting governance and security across the landscape.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in STEM, Econometrics, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence or data platform development.
• Strong experience with data integration, ETL/ELT processes, and transforming complex datasets into reliable and scalable data models.
• Proficient in SQL and have a solid understanding of relational databases, data warehousing concepts, and data architecture principles.
• Familiar with Power BI and understand how to design, maintain, and optimize semantic models and reporting environments.
• Experience connecting and integrating data from multiple sources, such as SQL databases, APIs, XML, JSON, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
• Comfortable working with automation and modern digital tools, including Microsoft Power Platform and AI-enabled technologies such as Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience with Python, cloud data platforms, or modern data engineering technologies is considered a strong asset.
• You understand the importance of documentation and are committed to creating high-quality, maintainable solutions that can be easily supported by others.
• You are fluent in English and Dutch or French, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multilingual environment.
• You enjoy working with international teams and stakeholders and can translate complex requirements into clear and impactful data solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and integration solutions.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes to collect, transform and deliver high-quality data.
• Develop and maintain data models, data warehouses and reporting datasets to support business analytics and operational insights.
• Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources while ensuring consistency, accuracy and reliability.
• Support the development of business intelligence and data visualization solutions, including Power BI and other reporting platforms.
• Implement data quality, governance and security standards across the data landscape.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of data platforms, databases and processing workflows.
• Contribute to automation initiatives that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort throughout the organization.
• Coach and support colleagues by sharing knowledge and promoting data best practices across teams.
