NTT DATA Europe & Latam is seeking a freelance Senior Business Analyst for a Brussels-based mobile application transformation project. The role focuses on bridging business requirements with UX and development teams in a hybrid Brussels environment.

You will lead requirements gathering, user journey design, backlog structuring, and acceptance criteria creation within an Agile framework to support a major digital transformation initiative.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support the complete redesign of a large-scale mobile application used by thousands of end users.

You will play a central role in bridging business requirements, user experience (UX), design teams, and software development teams. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with hands‑on experience in mobile digital transformation projects, user journey mapping, and Agile delivery.

This role spans the full functional definition lifecycle, from business analysis and user journey design through to development readiness and delivery support.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Functional Design

• Gather and analyse business and user requirements
• Challenge and refine stakeholder requests to identify underlying business objectives
• Define and structure end-to-end user journeys
• Identify pain points, exceptions, and complex scenarios
• Collaborate with Product Owners and Project Managers to prioritise requirements

User Journey & Experience Mapping

• Analyse and document:
• User flow variations
• Edge cases
• Accessibility requirements
• Ensure full coverage of critical user journeys

Requirements Traceability & Backlog Structuring

• Maintain end-to-end traceability between:
• Define functional requirements and features
• Create and maintain structured backlogs
• Draft Epics, User Stories, and Acceptance Criteria
• Manage dependencies and support backlog refinement activities
• Prepare functional inputs for UX/UI designers
• Define screen inventories and navigation flows
• Specify behavioural requirements and system states:
• Loading
• Error
• Empty state
• Offline mode
• Edge cases
• Ensure consistency between business requirements and user experience design

Delivery & Stakeholder Coordination

• Act as the key liaison between:
• Business stakeholders
• UX/UI teams
• Architects
• Development teams
• QA teams
• Project Management
• Participate in workshops, Agile ceremonies, and refinement sessions
• Support testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Documentation & Governance

• Maintain high-quality functional documentation in Confluence
• Create and manage functional repositories
• Ensure consistency and traceability across requirements, journeys, screens, stories, and test cases
