The role involves coordinating hundreds of squads, stakeholder management, and delivering end-to-end initiatives in a hybrid Brussels setup with English as daily language.

Qualifications

• Proven Scrum Master experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Experience in regulated industries is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
• Solid technical affinity to discuss architecture and delivery challenges.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating multiple squads and dependencies.
• Fluent English; French and/or Dutch a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead Agile ceremonies and promote Agile/DevOps practices within the squad.
• Facilitate Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives.
• Coach team members to improve capabilities and maturity.
• Own end-to-end feature delivery across squads, tribes, or departments.
• Identify and remove delivery blockers in a complex landscape.
• Promote transparency and escalate risks with stakeholders.
• Lead an international, multicultural squad incl. onshore/offshore members.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master Expert to lead a squad within a large-scale, highly complex enterprise environment. This is not a traditional Scrum Master role focused solely on facilitating Agile ceremonies. The position combines Agile leadership, delivery ownership, stakeholder management, and cross-team dependency coordination in an ecosystem comprising hundreds of interconnected squads and multiple business domains.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving delivery excellence, enabling high-performing teams, and ensuring successful end-to-end implementation of strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective adoption and application of Agile and DevOps practices within the squad
• Facilitate all Agile ceremonies, including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives
• Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, transparency, and continuous feedback
• Coach squad members both individually and collectively to improve capabilities and team maturity
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support the team's Agile journey

Delivery Management & Dependency Coordination

• Take end-to-end ownership of feature delivery, including initiatives requiring contributions from multiple squads, tribes, or departments
• Proactively identify, manage, and remove delivery blockers across a complex organizational landscape
• Develop sufficient technical understanding of architectures, systems, and dependencies to engage effectively with technical stakeholders
• Track delivery progress through to production release, ensuring alignment with objectives, timelines, and quality expectations

Leadership & Team Enablement

• Challenge the team to continuously improve performance, even when delivery objectives are being met
• Promote transparency with stakeholders and management by escalating risks and issues proactively
• Balance servant leadership with active leadership to help the squad achieve ambitious goals
• Encourage accountability, ownership, and a results-oriented mindset

Multicultural & Distributed Team Management

• Lead and support an international and multicultural squad, including both onshore and offshore team members
• Ensure remote colleagues are fully integrated into team activities and decision‑making processes
• Maintain strong collaboration across geographies, time zones, and cultures

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master in a large-scale and complex organizational environment
• Experience working within highly regulated industries such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, or other large enterprises is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of both Agile methodologies and DevOps principles
• Solid technical affinity with the ability to understand architecture, technical dependencies, and delivery challenges
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex cross-team initiatives and dependencies
• Natural leadership style with a proactive mindset and the confidence to challenge the status quo
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and resilience in complex environments
• Experience managing multicultural and partially distributed teams
• Fluent English is essential; French and/or Dutch are considered strong advantages
