Job summary

GlobalFoundries Inc. is seeking a talented Applications Engineer to design, develop, and maintain features for our performance tuning software.

You will work with customers and internal teams to understand needs and enhance workflows, ensuring reliability and compatibility. You will learn from experienced engineers, participate in code reviews, and help onboard customers to our hybrid simulation tool, integrating with pre‑silicon flows and debugging hardware traces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related equivalent.
• Experience supporting customers or development teams; open‑source contributions are a plus.
• Interest in developer tools, IDEs, application frameworks, extensions.
• Curiosity about computer architecture, RISC‑V, simulation, performance tuning, or low‑level software systems.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, persistence, and willingness to troubleshoot unfamiliar technical challenges.
• Ability to learn new frameworks, APIs, architectures, and engineering best practices quickly.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Passion for learning, building useful tools, and creating software that helps developers be more productive.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of application features addressing customer needs.
• Collaborate with engineers, cross‑functional teams, and customers to understand requirements and improve capabilities.
• Learn and apply testing, debugging, and performance analysis techniques for reliability and performance.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute ideas to improve code quality and practices.
• Support customer adoption of the tools and platform within their development flows.
• Create demos and support product marketing in evangelizing the solution.
• Champion new features and use cases that unlock value for customers.
