Job summary

GlobalFoundries is seeking a talented Applications Engineer to help build an innovative software performance tuning application for MIPS RISC-V microprocessors. You will support customers during onboarding, ongoing use, and troubleshooting, and work with cross‑functional teams to grow adoption of our hybrid simulation solution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals and experience supporting customers or developers.
• Interest in developer tools, IDEs, simulation solutions, or extensions.
• Curiosity about computer architecture, RISC-V, and performance tuning.
• Good problem-solving, persistence, and willingness to troubleshoot.
• Ability to learn new frameworks, APIs, and engineering practices quickly.
• Clear communication and collaborative mindset.
• Passion for building useful tools for developers.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, development, and maintenance of application features meeting customer needs.
• Collaborate with engineers and customers to improve the product’s capabilities.
• Learn testing, debugging, and performance analysis to ensure reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute ideas for code quality.
• Support customer adoption by integrating with their software workflows.
• Create demos and assist product marketing in evangelizing the solution.
• Use the tools as a customer advocate for new features and use cases.
