Job summary

European Payments Initiative is transforming Europe’s payments landscape with a remote-first culture and quarterly in-person touchpoints. You will strengthen our risk and internal control framework, working across the three lines of defense in a regulated environment.

You’ll monitor and improve level 1 and 2 controls, support risk identification, and help report to committees while collaborating with Compliance and Risk teams across Europe.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Risk and Internal Control, including risk framework setup and the Three Lines of Defense model.
• Hands-on experience with Level 1 / Level 2 control execution and testing.
• Knowledge of COSO, risk reporting and governance in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Monitor level 1 controls, collect results, and support managers in execution and follow-up.
• Design, plan and perform level 2 controls using a risk-driven approach.
• Contribute to identification, assessment and documentation of risks, maintaining risk registers and risk indicators.
• Monitor risk appetite thresholds and ensure mitigation actions are raised when required.
• Contribute to risk reporting to EPI Committees and Supervisory Boards.
• Monitor third-party risk assessments and oversee external risks.
• Promote risk and internal control awareness across the organisation and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Compliance, Business Continuity and Risk & Compliance across the defense lines.
