Job summary

Jobgether in Belgium is seeking a hands-on Data Scientist (Time Series Forecasting) to join a partner company powering a live energy trading platform. You will build and optimize time series models to predict weather conditions, energy market prices, and grid supply and demand, and translate forecasts into production-ready code.

The role offers a fully remote, international team with emphasis on quantitative excellence, AI-assisted tooling, and practical impact in the evolving energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, econometrics, physics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• At least three years of professional experience in data science, forecasting, or related fields.
• Experience with time series forecasting models and practical translation to solutions.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; Go is a plus.
• Experience using agentic coding tools in daily development workflows.
• Excellent English communication in a remote, international setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and refine forecasting models for weather, energy prices, and grid supply/demand.
• Translate forecasting algorithms into robust production-ready code for a live energy trading platform.
• Analyze data, identify patterns, and improve forecasting accuracy for reliable trading decisions.
• Integrate agentic coding tools into the development workflow to boost productivity.
• Collaborate with distributed teams to align model development with business and platform needs.
