Job summary

Médiane Benelux is seeking a System Engineer to join a multicultural team in Charleroi, Belgium, focusing on Automatic Train Operation and advanced signalling systems. You will analyze needs, design architecture, and specify interfaces across the full system lifecycle from analysis to definition.

The role requires a Master’s degree and proficiency in MBSE, SysML, and related tools, with knowledge of railway signalling (ETCS/CBTC) and safety-critical environments considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electronics, Telecom, Automation, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or similar fields.
• Strong system modelling and requirements traceability experience.
• Knowledge of railway signalling or safety-critical environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, clarify, and confirm internal and external requirements for complex railway systems.
• Design system architecture and model functional solutions (MBSE, SysML, etc.).
• Write and maintain system specifications with full traceability.
• Identify and resolve functional and technical interfaces across teams.
• Assess design trade-offs and perform technical risk analysis.
